Trips & Readings
Play Readings
We have a monthly programme of play readings, simply for the enjoyment of reading new plays without any of the pressures of performing. These take place from 7.45pm, generally on the second Monday each month at the Memorial Hall. PLEASE CHECK on News and Diary for specifics of the programme. We often choose for readings plays that would be difficult for us to do - eg because of a very large cast size or complicated staging problems - but sometimes we use readings to try out plays that we're considering for the next season. Most of all we want them to be fun and they provide an informal opportunity for all who wish to try taking a part without the pressure of a paying audience.
Workshops
These occasional workshops, for members only, are led by members or guests and allow everyone to learn a new theatre skill or role.Trips
We organise regular theatre trips with good group discounts for members and their friends and family. Details will appear on the News and Diary page. Otherwise, contact Bernard and Pat Riley on 0113 230 0312 or at social@adel-players.org.uk for tickets and further details. Adel Players' Annual Dinner - June 2011
Each year we have an end-of-season meal out to celebrate our year's work and to just enjoy each others' company before the Summer break. This year we went to Hazel's restaurant in Adel and, as there were so many of us, we all swapped seats between courses. This gave us a great chance to catch up with everyone but we confused the waiters and waitresses utterly! Anyway, here are some photos from that night: | |
